Summer is ending, temperatures cooling off and Fall is rapidly approaching. This summer has been a busy one for our Post, beginning with a successful Legion Rider Poker Run. Thanks to Dave Schott, and all who helped. The Clam Bake another sell out success! Thanks to Dave Martin, Frank Kalmbach, and the Clam Bake Crew. All who attended had a great time!  We had our first "Luau" which was a success, thanks to Sue Barlow, Carl Lessig and his famous Smoke House Crew!  I’m sure we will have many more to come if this was an indication of what we can expect!  Our Tuesday night "Bike Night" has come to an end for this year. We're hoping to resume it next year on a bigger scale. The new Outside "TIKI Bar" was a big hit. The casual outside relaxation was enjoyed by all. We hope more of our membership will participate in our events and have the "Camaraderie Experience" with your fellow Vets and their families.

We are currently looking forward to our "
Halloween Party" on Saturday October 22 @ 7pm. It is hosted by our S.A.L. & Legion Riders contingent's with Music, food, and prizes. I'm told by some it will be an epic event, don't miss it! Tickets are on sale at the bar and can be purchased at the door.

We are moving into our next phase of
Post interior upgrades.  Upgrades include the bar area and we will be tackling the bathroom issues, which will probably will be our most expensive item. Thanks to the generosity of our members with their building fund contributions and our Bingo fund we hope to be able to complete these projects soon.

As you drive by our Post you will notice our
new shed in the rear of the parking lot . This was purchased by our Bingo Committee.  It resolves our storage space issues for tables chairs and catering supplies.

We have started our in-house Catering operation, We had successful catered events with two weddings and two special events, with more on the books. Any one interested in having an event catered,  please contact our Post Catering Mgr. Tom Ryan or Bar Mgr. Dave Martin.

Saturday September 3, was the
Post Installation of Officers for the 2016-2017 year. It was a beautiful day , with an impressive installation overseen by American Legion PA 15th District Deputy Tim French and Auxiliary State President Joan Kanany. Installed were the officers and Executive Board of the Post, The Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of the Legion and The Legion Riders.  In addition to the Installation of Officers ,The Officers and Executive Board of American Legion Post 139 presented a plaque to Past Commander Bill Glanville.  Designating Him "Commander Emeritus" of American Legion Post 139 Milford PA. The Post 139 American Legion "Achievement Award plaque was awarded to Past House Committee Chairman Bill O'Hara, for his dedicated service to American Legion Post 139.

We will be celebrating our
1st Anniversary of BINGO in November.  BINGO has been a huge success for the Post.  The Post has been reimbursed for the seed money and our BINGO profits go to funding Post projects.  Thanks to all who help on a weekly basis to make BINGO an ongoing success!

For God and Country,

Rich Diaz, Commander, American Legion Post 139
